Pok\u00e9mon Home gets Arceus, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl update<\/div>\n

Pok\u00e9mon Home will finally be compatible with Pok\u00e9mon Legends: Arceus<\/em>, as well as Pok\u00e9mon Brilliant Diamond <\/em>and Pok\u00e9mon Shining Pearl<\/em>. The Pok\u00e9mon Company announced the long-awaited update via a news release<\/a> on Thursday. <\/p>\n

An exact release date for the update wasn\u2019t listed alongside the new information \u2014 just that it will \u201csoon arrive.\u201d Polygon has reached out to The Pok\u00e9mon Company for more information.<\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon players have been eagerly waiting for information on Pok\u00e9mon Home; Brilliant Diamond <\/em>and Shining Pearl<\/em> were released in November 2021, followed by Legends: Arceus<\/em> in January 2022, but the cloud-based storage and trading system remained incompatible with all those games for some time. <\/p>\n

\u201cFor example, you will be able to take a Pikachu that you caught in Pok\u00e9mon Sword <\/em>or Pok\u00e9mon Shield<\/em> into Pok\u00e9mon Legends: Arceus<\/em>, Pok\u00e9mon Brilliant Diamond<\/em>, or Pok\u00e9mon Shining Pearl<\/em>,\u201d The Pok\u00e9mon Company wrote. \u201cPlease note that transferring Pok\u00e9mon to a game they were not originally caught in may cause certain changes to known moves, level, and what type of Pok\u00e9 Ball they were caught in.\u201d<\/p>\n

That means that Pok\u00e9mon moves could change when transferred into Home and then onto other games. The details here are vague, but Pok\u00e9mon experts over at Serebii<\/a> are quickly figuring out details from pre-release, Japanese versions of the app: Despite the moves not transferring, they\u2019ll stay \u201cconnected\u201d to to Pok\u00e9mon, meaning that if they\u2019re returned to the game they were caught in, they\u2019ll retain original moves \u2014 regardless of whether they learned anything in their trip into another game, according to Serebii<\/a>.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll also notice that Pok\u00e9mon transferred from Legends: Arceus <\/em>will appear in new Pok\u00e9 Balls when transferred. Pok\u00e9 Balls as we know them today didn\u2019t exist in that game, so anything transferred to or from Legends: Arceus<\/em> will appear in a green Strange Ball.<\/p>\n
