The metaverse is back. Coke is releasing Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte, a new limited-edition “pixel-flavored soda” that was “born in the metaverse,” for sale on Monday, May 2. Coca-Cola will start sales of Byte at 12 p.m. EDT through its Creations website<\/a>, and says that less than 25,000 twin packs will be made available. <\/p>\n

The soda manufacturer claims Byte has “an innovative flavor inspired by the playfulness and pixels, rooted within the experiences that games make possible.” If you missed out on this sale, or want to know what it tastes like, click here. Coke states that Byte’s “bright, bold taste is like powering up a video game and the refreshing finish make it a great gaming companion.” )<\/p>\n

Byte originally debuted in Fortnite<\/em> <\/em>last month and was sold in limited amounts in Latin America. Coke plans to do another collaboration through Coca-Cola Creations with Marshmello, the musician who is also a very big deal in Fortnite<\/em>. <\/p>\n

Coca-Cola launched Zero Sugar Byte with a “suite of digital immersive experiences.” That includes an original augmented reality game and Pixel Point, an island created in Fortnite Creative that was designed by Coca-Cola and “lifestyle and gaming organization” PWR. Fortnite gamers can play four minigames at Pixel Point and have a great time chatting with new soda. <\/p>\n

This is the second Coke Creation flavor so far, with Coca-Cola Starlight, a space-flavored soda, hitting the market earlier this year. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
