Alongside the announcement, the studio revealed a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/news.blizzard.com\/en-us\/diablo-immortal\/23797159\/making-diablo-immortal-for-pc\">host of changes for the PC version<\/a>, such as controller support, UI scaling, and cross-progression. But it also revealed why the PC edition of<em> <\/em><em>Diablo<\/em><em> Immortal<\/em> exists: to combat emulation.<\/p>\n<p >In a blog post, Blizzard speaks a bit about going back and forth on wanting <em>Diablo Immortal<\/em> on PC at all. \u201cOn one hand, we felt that we wouldn\u2019t be doing the title justice by releasing a game originally designed for mobile on PC,\u201d Blizzard said, \u201con the other hand, we wanted to make sure the game reached as many players as possible\u2014especially our most dedicated PC fans.\u201d But, Blizzard explained, \u201cthe deciding factor was that we knew many of you would attempt to play this game through an emulator, thus leading us towards building a better experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p >Not only should this lead to a more curated experience \u2014 with UI and controls specifically tailored for PC \u2014 but players won\u2019t need to circumvent the studio just to get their pre-<em>Diablo 4<\/em> fix. It\u2019s a Blizzard that clearly learned from the fan-made \u201cClassic\u201d <em>World of Warcraft<\/em> servers of many years ago, which led it to create <em>World of Warcraft: Classic<\/em> internally.<\/p>\n<p >Blizzard\u2019s candid answer about emulation is a far cry from the oft-memed \u201c<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/knowyourmeme.com\/memes\/do-you-guys-not-have-phones\">Do you guys not have phones<\/a>?\u201d from <em>Immortal<\/em>\u2019s 2018 reveal. And with the studio&#8217;s extended apology at the start of its reveal stream for <em>World of Warcraft: Dragonflight<\/em> last week, we\u2019re trending toward a more open Blizzard than we\u2019ve seen in some time. <\/p>\n<p >Until players get their hands on<em> Diablo Immortal<\/em> (especially the new PC beta), it\u2019s impossible to say how Diablo\u2019s latest title will land with hardcore fans.
