It\u2019s especially cumbersome if you happen to be a PC gamer who prefers the feel of the DualSense to that of keyboard and mouse. <\/p>\n<p >Starting today, that\u2019s no longer an issue, as Sony Interactive Entertainment <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PlayStation\/status\/1516657222188781568\">announced<\/a> Wednesday that PC players will now be able to update the firmware of their DualSense wireless controllers using Windows 11 and \u201cselect Windows 10 devices,\u201d without needing to connect to a PS5.<\/p>\n<p >In a <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/controller.dl.playstation.net\/controller\/lang\/en\/fwupdater.html#sf255705398\">page dedicated to the announcement<\/a>, Sony details the steps that players will have to take in order to update their controllers through their Windows PC, including downloading Sony\u2019s firmware updater app and connecting their wireless controller using a USB cable.<\/p>\n<p >Players will be periodically notified of new firmware updates and prompted to update their controllers to the latest version via the firmware app.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<div class=\"source-image\">https:\/\/cdn.vox-cdn.com\/thumbor\/WAPomIuZNGhCQOaBOso5aTRpoHo=\/0x215:3000&#215;1786\/fit-in\/1200&#215;630\/cdn.vox-cdn.com\/uploads\/chorus_asset\/file\/22014582\/hhargreaves_201103_ecl1040_ps5_detail_26368.jpg<\/div>\n<div class=\"source-link\">https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/23033597\/ps5-dualsense-controller-windows-pc-update<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Players can now update DualSense PS5 controllers directly on PC If you\u2019re a PlayStation 5 owner, you likely know the hassle of having to connect to your console in order to update the firmware for your DualSense controller.
