{"id":1515,"date":"2022-04-15T18:50:26","date_gmt":"2022-04-15T16:50:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pr.gagadget.com\/diablo-2-resurrected-patch-2-4-goes-live-with-balance-changes-bug-fixes\/"},"modified":"2022-04-15T18:50:26","modified_gmt":"2022-04-15T16:50:26","slug":"diablo-2-resurrected-patch-2-4-goes-live-with-balance-changes-bug-fixes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pr.gagadget.com\/en\/diablo-2-resurrected-patch-2-4-goes-live-with-balance-changes-bug-fixes\/","title":{"rendered":"Diablo 2: Resurrected patch 2. 4 goes live with balance changes, bug fixes"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"source-title\">Diablo 2: Resurrected patch 2. 4 goes live with balance changes, bug fixes<\/div>\n<div class=\"source-text\">\n<div>\n<p >Blizzard Entertainment rolled out a major new update for <em>Diablo 2: Resurrected<\/em> on Thursday, a patch that made sweeping balance changes to and fixed numerous bugs in the classic click-and-kill action-RPG. <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/news.blizzard.com\/en-us\/diablo2\/23788293\/diablo-ii-resurrected-patch-2-4-now-live\">Patch 2. 4<\/a> for <em>Diablo<\/em><em> 2: Resurrected<\/em> is the first major balance update to the game in more than 11 years and fixes some nasty bugs that players have faced since the original game launched in 2000. <\/p>\n<p >Of note are two longstanding bugs with <em>Diablo 2<\/em> that would have completely wiped out your character&#8217;s mana &#8212; making some classes effectively defenseless &#8212; or dealt too much damage &#8212; namely fire-enchanted monsters. From Blizzard&#8217;s extensive patch notes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li >Fixed an issue where Unique monster packs with mana drain were draining way more mana than was intended<\/li>\n<li >Fixed an issue where fire enchanted monsters were doing too much damage in Nightmare difficulty<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p ><em>Diablo 2: Resurrected<\/em> developers said last year that they wanted to address bugs like the above, the unexpected results of miscalculations in the game&#8217;s code, that have long vexed players. Andre Abrahamian, former game designer at Blizzard Entertainment and lead design for <em>Diablo 2: Resurrected<\/em>, said during a Q&#038;A video session that the team in charge of the <em>Diablo 2<\/em> remaster wanted to fix &#8220;things that are misinforming players,&#8221; but leave &#8220;quirks&#8221; that could benefit players or that became part of the game&#8217;s meta as-is. <\/p>\n<aside ><\/aside>\n<p >Elsewhere in the update, Blizzard has made substantial balance changes to all of <em>Diablo 2: Resurrected<\/em>&#8216;s seven classes. This team seems to have covered all aspects of classes: attack animations to combat skills to class-specific tooltips. A fix for the class&#8217; Whirlwind ability will delight Barbarian players. Those tweaks have been in testing since January, when Blizzard brought patch 2. 4 to the game&#8217;s public test realm. <\/p>\n<p >Thursday&#8217;s update also includes new Horadric Cube recipes, new Ladder-exclusive Rune Words, and wide-ranging <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/news.blizzard.com\/en-us\/diablo2\/23788293\/diablo-ii-resurrected-patch-2-4-now-live#quality\">quality of life updates<\/a>. This update also includes &#8220;Legacy&#8221; graphics that emulate classic visualizations.
