System helps the company adapt to rapidly changing management environments

Samsung Electronics today announced that the company successfully applied N-ERP, the next-generation ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning¹) system in its 120 offices across the world.

ERP is a software system that takes care of a company’s entire business, including processes in finance, human resources, manufacturing, supply chain, services, procurement and more. Samsung SDS and SAP collaborated to create N-ERP, a platform that will support its next 10 years of innovation.

The N-ERP allows for innovation in accordance with current business strategies. For instance, various sales-related systems, once operated separately, have been integrated into a single system that supports multiple business convergence strategies, such as hardware & software product bundling and omni-channel operation. For efficient collaboration between production and logistic partners, professional solutions such as Transportation Management, Extended Warehouse Management, and Supply Chain Collaboration were all incorporated into one system.

In addition, Samsung has adopted the latest in-memory DB, which integrates and manages data storing and operation processes in the DB server memory. It also allows for scale-out architecture that can accommodate large data sets and rising demands for data analysis.

The N-ERP not only supports business innovation, but helps employees to focus on the most important responsibilities. The use of automated technologies like Robotic Process Automation, Optical Character Recognition and machine learning software infrastructures can help reduce manual labor.

The contrast and difference in detail are evident between last year’s model and this year’s Neo QLED 8K. Even with similar specs, such as Mini LEDs and dimming zones, the 2022 Neo QLED 8K allows us to be aware of intricate scenes and details that weren’t recognizable before. As shown above, 14-bit contrast mapping allows us to see the fine details on the surface of the water as well as the granular texture of the rocks under water.

Real Depth Enhancer

When the eyes are focused on an object, they focus on its details, sharpness and clarity. The 2022 Samsung Neo QLED 8K’s Neural Quantum Processor 8K acts quite similarly through its new feature, the Real Depth Enhancer, which increases overall contrast and definition of the object — creating a greater sense of depth and making the images pop.

Smart Calibration

With a new year of image quality improvements, comes a new sense of control for Samsung Neo QLED 8K. Now, viewers can calibrate and optimize their display from the menu bar or through the Smart Calibration app on their smartphone. ¹ With Basic Mode, the app offers calibrated images in 30 seconds, while Professional Mode offers thorough image calibration and optimization within 5 to 8 minutes. Both modes require a simple one-step process from the users’ part to optimize the on-screen image. The age of DDR5 has arrived. From 5G and artificial intelligence (AI) to metaverse and augmented reality (AR), high-performance computing is pushing the limits of server environments to process massive amounts of data at extremely high speeds. Understanding that tech giants the world over are set to add droves of servers to their data centers, Samsung Electronics has developed its DDR5 memory solutions to play a key role in empowering future-oriented industries to perform at their peak.

Future-First Memory Solutions for Data-Driven Innovation

With the development of their DDR5 solution, Samsung, a company known for changing the landscape of the global dynamic random access memory (DRAM) market, has introduced yet another generational shift in the IT industry. Furthermore, following the release earlier this year of CPUs that support DDR5, tremendous change is expected in the computing landscape, too, with growth expected to encompass gaming and mainstream PCs as well.

Compared to its predecessor which hit the market in 2013, DDR4, DDR5 DRAM boasts twice the speed and four times the capacity, at 4800Mpbs and 512GB respectively. ¹ This next-generation high-performance memory allows networks to handle the soaring amounts of data generated by cloud computing, AI and autonomous driving systems. Unlike DDR4, DDR5 directly incorporates a power management integrated circuit (PMIC) into a dual in-line memory module (DIMM), resulting in a 30 percent increase in power efficiency on the module level and a more stable power supply.

Data centers are the main users of DDR5, since, in order to work at their full potential, they require low-power, high-performance memory as they consume large amounts of energy to perform operations and keep servers cool. Starting from the third quarter of this year, existing DRAMs for servers are set to steadily be replaced by DDR5, a shift that could help data centers stay cost-efficient and encourage sustainable, eco-friendly development.
