Dead by Daylight: Hooked on You is a dating sim from the Col. Sanders folks

Dead by Daylight: Hooked on You is a dating sim from the Col. Sanders folks

Dead by Daylight , was launched in 2016, and pits four survivors against one deadly Killer. Still, over the past six years, some brave fans have asked “What if we weren’t getting murdered by these Killers? What if, instead, we chose to give them some lovely smooches?”

Behaviour Interactive gives the Dead fanbase its wish with an upcoming sim, Dead Dead .. While Hooked On You isn’t canon, it’s still an exciting opportunity to befriend or date the Trapper, Huntress, Wraith, and Spirit characters. The spin-off is launching this summer for Windows PC on Steam.

Hooked On You is a collaboration with developer Psyop, perhaps best known for its work on 2019’s KFC-themed dating sim I Love You, Colonel Sanders! It may have been a tough task to make Colonel Sanders sexy, but there’s a lot of grassroots passion for Dead by Daylight characters. Plus, Hooked on You is based around the archetypal “beach episode” from anime and manga, so there’ll be sunlight and swimsuits aplenty.

The protagonist is a little bit like a blank canvas. They can choose who to romance and whom they would befriend over the course the game. Behaviour Interactive stated that the studio would be open to creating more romantic stories with a larger cast if fans are interested.

Apple delays stricter in-person work requirements, citing increase in COVID-19 cases

Apple delays stricter in-person work requirements, citing increase in COVID-19 cases

Apple is once again pausing its return to in-person plans due to an increase in COVID-19 cases. The company had originally said that employees would be required to work in-person three days per week starting next week on May 23, but it is now delaying that requirement.

The company also has not yet set a date when this requirement will take effect. However, employees are expected to continue working two days per week.

Apple employees started returning to in-person work on April 11, following a two-year stint of remote work brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. The company had planned to use a phased approach to returning to in-person work and began requiring two days of in-person work on May 4.

The next step in this phased approach was to bring employees back to the office three days per week on May 23, specifically requiring in-person work on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Apple has rescheduled this stage.

As first reported by Bloomberg, Apple is still requiring employees to work in-person two days per week, but it will not ramp that up to three days per week on May 23 as originally planned. The company is delaying that requirement indefinitely.

Apple has also increased its masking policies. All employees will be required to use face masks.

The changes to Apple’s plans come as COVID-19 cases have once again started to increase in the United States and other countries. Hospitalizations are also increasing but at a much slower pace, according to data compiled by the New York Times.

Apple has faced criticism for its insistence on requiring in-person work for employees, with the company’s policies being more restrictive than other Silicon Valley companies.

This decision to defer the return of three days per week to in-person work is not likely to disarm that criticism. In fact, it could lead to more criticism based on the fact that Apple has acknowledged an increase in COVID-19 cases, but is still requiring two days per week of in-person work.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G hands-on review

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G hands-on review

Introduction

The Nord CE 2 Lite 5G is the latest smartphone from OnePlus and also the cheapest in the company’s current lineup. Meant to be the entry-level option for customers in Europe and India, the Nord CE 2 Lite 5G is very similar to the Nord N20 5G that is being launched in North America. European launches are expected to follow soon.

Oneplus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G review

The Nord CE 2 Lite 5G is based on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G platform and comes with a 120Hz display, triple camera system, and a large 5000mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC fast charging. The closely related OnePlus Nord N20 in the US has a smaller battery and a 90Hz AMOLED display, but otherwise, the two phones are very similar.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G specs at a glance:

  • Body: 164.3×75.6×8. 5mm, 195g; Glass front, plastic frame, plastic back.
  • Display: 6. 59″ IPS LCD, 120Hz, 1080x2412px resolution, 20. 1:9 aspect ratio, 401ppi.
  • Chipset: Qualcomm SM6375 Snapdragon 695 5G (6 nm): Octa-core (2×2. 2 GHz Kryo 660 Gold & 6×1. 7 GHz Kryo 660 Silver); Adreno 619.
  • Memory: 128GB 6GB RAM, 128GB 8GB RAM; UFS 2. 2; microSDXC (uses shared SIM slot).
  • OS/Software: Android 12, OxygenOS 12.1.
  • Rear camera: Wide (main): 64 MP, f/1. 7, 26mm, 0. 7um, PDAF; Macro: 2 MP, f/2. 4; Depth: 2 MP, f/2.4.
  • Front camera: 16 MP, f/2.0, (wide), 1/3.0″, 1.0um.
  • Video capture: Rear camera: 1080p@30fps; Front camera: 1080p@30fps.
  • Battery: 4500mAh; Fast charging 33W.
  • Misc: Fingerprint reader (side-mounted); 3. 5mm jack.

The Nord CE 2 Lite 5G is dropping in a segment that is ruthlessly ruled by Xiaomi and OnePlus sister brand Realme. For OnePlus to succeed, the Nord CE 2 Lite 5G will have to be quite the standout. Let’s see how the phone performs.

Unboxing

The Nord CE 2 Lite 5G comes with a fairly basic package. The phone supports 33W charging, and a corresponding 33W charger ships with it, along with a red USB 2.0 cable.

A clear silicone case is also included.

Dead by Daylight devs reveal new Killer bogeyman The Dredge

Dead by Daylight devs reveal new Killer bogeyman The Dredge

Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive on Tuesday showed off a host of new content coming to the asymmetrical, multiplayer horror game. Fans can expect to see four more Chapters in the next year. Each Chapter will bring a new Killer or Survivor into the game. Two new maps and four Tomes will be released by Behaviour, as well as an overhaul of the Perks system.

A match between Dead by Daylight pits four helpless survivors against one strong Killer. The Survivors have to try to fix shoddy generators and escape through a gate without getting murdered, while the Killer uses their unique powers to stalk and slash anyone in their path.

Behaviour Interactive announced Tuesday that Roots of Dread is the first of these new Chapters. Roots of Dread brings a new map to a small American town haunted by terrible secrets. These secrets are revealed in the Dredge Killer and Survivor Haddie Kaur.

Haddie appeared at past Archives events and is much more proficient than the rest of the cast. She looks absolutely done with all of this monster nonsense, so I trust her with my life.

The Dredge, however, looks very creepy, like a terrible scarecrow stitched together from burlap, flesh, and skulls. The Dredge has horrible misshapen limbs including one with a gnarled hook and a bubblehead with an odd, toothy mouth. He’s definitely the weirdest Killer yet, and unlike some of his predecessors, he has no sympathetic qualities or tragic backstory to justify his murders.

The Dredge can teleport to lockers around the map using Teleport: Gloaming. This gives him an incredible amount of mobility and surprising power. Lockers are also one of the safest places for Survivors in Dead by Daylight, so this ability is doubly mean to Survivors. The Dredge can also plunge Survivors into darkness, putting them into a state of confusion where the only thing they can see is the Dredge.

Resident Evil fans also got a pleasant surprise on Tuesday; a second licensed Chapter is on the way and will arrive before the end of 2022. Behaviour Interactive has already added the series’ Raccoon City Police Department; a new Killer in Resident Evil 3‘s Nemesis; and two Survivors with Jill Valentine and Leon S. Kennedy. Many more villains and heroes are to be covered, such as the vampire Lady Dimitrescu who was featured in last year’s Resident Evil Village ,. It will also be interesting to see who might join Dead by Daylight ..

Some of this new content is already hitting the public test realm for Dead by Daylight on Tuesday. New cosmetics will be available soon. Behaviour said it will release an Attack on Titan collection, which adds 10 different outfits inspired by the popular anime to both Killers and Survivors.

Move over Guitar Hero, this MIDI Controller Electric Guitar teaches you how to shred in real life

Move over Guitar Hero, this MIDI Controller Electric Guitar teaches you how to shred in real life

Designed to make learning the guitar as easy as pressing buttons, the LUMIN is a MIDI-operated electric guitar that uses a set of illuminated buttons to teach you hand-eye coordination.

MIDI, which stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface, is a widely accepted standard behind most synthesizers and electronic music equipment. The basic idea behind MIDI is to transform physical actions into digital signals that can then be interpreted and interpreted as musical note. The LUMIN uses the same technology and implements it on a guitar, with multiple buttons running across the fretboard, and six string-like sensors on the guitar’s body. Hit the button on the fretboard and pluck against the string sensor and the guitar registers the corresponding note, playing it through a device like a laptop, tablet, or smartphone. Unlike an electric guitar, which takes electrical signals and passes them through filters, LUMIN is an electronic instrument that creates lines of code that can then be recorded, edited, and manipulated in tonnes of ways.

Designer: Marcus Hsieh

Although the Lumin has potential to become a professional instrument, Marcus Hsieh envisioned it as a more gateway device that would teach how to play guitar. LUMIN can be connected to an external device like a laptop that runs software similar to Guitar Hero. These modules teach you how the guitar works, guiding through progressions and chords. LED lights built into the individual buttons on the fretboard act as additional visual cues, helping you learn finger placement and chord formations. The lights also change color to let you know if you’ve pressed the buttons correctly, serving as key visual feedback.

“The positive cycle made of learning, practice and positive feedback allows users to improve their skills more and more”, says Marcus. Marcus says that video games encourage gamers to learn new skills. Musicians should also do this .”

.

He’s not wrong. Video games provide a strong feedback response through a platform that’s much more engaging than real life. If you channel it correctly, this can help train your brain to develop real skills such as timing and coordination. The only thing missing in this equation? A real ear for music is the only thing missing in this equation.

Nomad launches ‘Sport Band Slim’ for Apple Watch, an upgrade over Apple’s Sport Band [Hands-on]

Nomad launches ‘Sport Band Slim’ for Apple Watch, an upgrade over Apple’s Sport Band [Hands-on]

Nomad is out today with a new take on its Sport Band for Apple Watch. The Sport Band Slim is a cleaner and lighter-weight option for Apple Watch and has some features above and beyond Apple’s own Sport Band.

Here’s how Nomad describes its newest Apple Watch band:

Sport Slim Band is lightweight on your wrist, but maintains the durability of a larger band. Made of flexible FKM rubber and designed with a low-profile pin-and-tuck closing mechanism, Sport Band Slim easily transitions from workout to workday.

Sport Band Slim is available for both 44/45mm and 40/41mm Apple Watches (works for older 42 and 38mm Apple Watches too).

It comes in four colors: glacier blue, sage, bone, and black, and is priced at $59.95.

Hands-on with Sport Band Slim

I’ve been testing out the Sport Band Slim for the last week and have found it to be really comfortable.

While Nomad’s new band is similar to Apple’s Sport Band, it has a more secure feel with a pill-shaped pin for the pin and tuck design – as opposed to Apple’s smaller ball-shaped pin.

I really like the colors, particularly the sage and glacier blue (I tested out sage along with black).

Another thoughtful design is the ventilation channels on the inside of the band. I’ve found that to create extra breathability making it less of a sweat trap than Apple’s Sport Band or Sport Loop.

If you’re looking for a great versatile new band for your Apple Watch, Nomad’s Sport Band Slim is easy to recommend with four nice color choices, a slim and sturdy design, a comfortable fit, and handy touches like ventilation channels.

You can pick up the Sport Band Slim direct from Nomad now.

Magic: The Gathering’s new D&D cards bring more dungeon crawling

Magic: The Gathering’s new D&D cards bring more dungeon crawling

Wizards of the Coast knocked it out of the park last summer with Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, a crossover with Dungeons & Dragons that became the company’s best-selling summer set of all time. Its next D&D crossover, Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate, comes out on June 10, and on Tuesday lead designer Corey Bowen gave the first full explanation of how it’s going to work. Fans should expect a complex, draftable set of Commander-focused cards and a gameplay experience that evokes the feeling of actually playing D&D.

Volo, Itinerant Scholar is a legendary creature.

Image: Wizards of the Coast

Noble heritage background allows for white mana to be used in your Commander deck, and adds +1/+1 counters to your bag of tricks.

Image: Wizards of the Coast

Like 2020’s Commander Legends set, Battle for Baldur’s Gate is primarily designed for drafting, meaning that players will need to create novel new decks on the fly just as a game begins. Job one will be selecting a Commander from the two Legendary Creatures that appear in each pack of Draft Boosters. Next, players will want to select a background for that creature, if applicable.

According to Bowen, background cards perform a similar function to the partner mechanic (which was introduced with Commander 2016) by adding versatility to a given creature. It also dovetails nicely into the D&D theme, using the conceit of character creation to add to the potential mana colors Commanders can use while also sprinkling in powerful new abilities.

Scion of Halaster is a legendary enchantment, a background, that yields black mana and scry 2, more or less, when drawing cards at the beginning of the turn.

Image: Wizards of the Coast

Raised by Giants is a background that turns your Commander into a 10/10 giant.

Image: Wizards of the Coast

Cultist of the Absolute background gives Commander creatures +3/+3, flying, deathtouch, and more.

Image: Wizards of the Coast

The Criminal Past background adds black mana, menace, and a +X/+0 based on the number of creatures in your graveyard.

Image: Wizards of the Coast

From there, players will draft two cards at a time from each pack as it makes its way around the table, building 60-card decks in all (down from Commander’s traditional 100 cards). Unlike the traditional Commander format, the singleton rule won’t apply. That means players can have multiple versions of the same card in their deck.

Preconstructed decks that align with the standard 100-card format will be sold separately.

A key feature of the new set will be the introduction of even more classic characters from D&D lore. That includes Elminster, the powerful wizard created by Ed Greenwood for the beloved Forgotten Realms setting; elf vampire Astarion and Githyanki warrior Lae’zel, companions from Baldur’s Gate 3; and Baba Lysaga, a hag from Barovia and the mother of Tasha, in-fiction author of Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything. There are also lots of deeper cuts from the original Baldur’s Gate video game and its various sequels and expansions. Even fan favorites Minsc and Boo will make an appearance as planeswalkers (naturally) that can also serve as your Commander.

Elminster is a planeswalker that can be used as a Commander.

Image: Wizards of the Coast

Potential Commander Astarion is a vampire elf rogue with deathtouch and lifelink.

Image: Wizards of the Coast

Minsc and Boo, Timeless heroes are a singular planeswalker that can be a Commander as well.

Image: Wizards of the Coast

Baba Lysaga is a legendary creature that allows you to sacrifice up to three permanents to extract life from your opponents and gain life yourself.

Image: Wizards of the Coast

A new dungeon card will also be available. Adventures in the Forgotten Realms introduced dungeons to Magic — cards that allow players to press their luck by pouring energy into exploring a physical space in the hope of earning lucrative rewards. This time around, players will be able to explore the legendary Undercity below Baldur’s Gate. But the way they do it will be just a little different.

Players will make use of the new initiative mechanic, gaining initiative on their turn to move their characters through the dungeon. Players will be able to move faster if they have more initiative cards, especially if they are playing with adventure cards.

Elder brain is a creature, a horror, with menace.

Image: Wizards of the Coast

Full card art for Elder Brain.

Image: Wizards of the Coast

Illithid harvestor is a blue creature with an attached sorcery.

Image: Wizards of the Coast

Wand of Wonders is an artifact that asks players to roll a d20 each time they use it, at the cost of 4 mana.

Image: Wizards of the Coast

Dice rolling also makes its return with Battle for Baldur’s Gate. Certain cards will allow players to roll a d20 — just like in D&D — with rewards dependent on how high you roll. However, only one card called Wand of Wonder has been shown.

Previews of the set’s preconstructed Commander decks will be available online starting May 30. We don’t know the names of these characters: Party Draconic Descent ,, and Exit From Exile ..

Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate arrives at retail on June 10. Below is a gallery featuring all new cards.
