Since the launch of Samsung Electronics’ all-new portable screen at CES 2022, The Freestyle has received rave reviews for its spectrum of usage that is as versatile and flexible as the product name suggests. Freestyle is a first-of its kind technology, which can be used wherever and whenever the user chooses, depending on their lifestyle, preference, and style.

Samsung Newsroom has put together a guide to showcase how The Freestyle goes beyond the scope of conventional projectors to deliver a truly immersive entertainment experience.

1. The Bigger, The Better: Scalable Screens for Homes of Any Size

When it comes to TV screens, larger is better. What if your TV screen is small? The Freestyle allows you to stream large-screen content on any screen, regardless of how small it is. Enjoy watching content on a large screen (up to 100 inches) anytime, anywhere. Using the Scale & Move feature, you can scale the projected display size up to 50% and move the screen without ever moving the projector.

A large-screen TV is essential for sports enthusiasts. With The Freestyle, you can still experience the game-day atmosphere, even if you’re not there in person — simply invite friends over and cheer for your favorite team while enjoying The Freestyle’s large screen and high-quality sound as if you were at the match. You can elevate your viewing experience for whatever you watch, from sports commentary to remote concerts and nature documentaries.

Often, there are days when you miss your family home. Why not take a trip down memory lane by browsing your family photo albums using The Freestyle’s mirroring feature for Android and iOS devices? Smartphone mirroring allows you to video-call your family and friends on large screens. Light up your wall with heartfelt memories and stay connected to your loved ones, even when you’re far apart.

2. Travel Far, Pack Light: Portable Screens Perfect for Outdoors

If you want to explore the great outdoors in comfort and style, The Freestyle is a must-have item in your bag. With its compact size and minimal weight at only 830 grams, this portable projector is super convenient to pack. With The Freestyle, you can create your own space for watching content anywhere, whether indoors or outdoors.

What if you’re watching your favorite movie at home, and you suddenly need to leave your house? The Freestyle can be taken with you to allow you to resume the movie at any new place. Whether it’s your friend’s place, a hotel abroad, or even outdoors, now it’s easier, faster and more convenient than ever to stream your favorite content as if you are at home. Simply connect the Freestyle to your Samsung Smart TV using the Tap View function in SmartThings’ app.

There’s nothing like enjoying a cool summer night watching movies in the backyard or at a campsite. Whether you’re making memories with your kids or spending time with friends, The Freestyle can turn any campsite into a movie theater — no screen required. Simply use one side of your tent for a bright and clear viewing experience. You don’t have a campfire? No problem. You can project a video from a fireplace to enjoy a warm night beneath the stars.

3. Find Your Sweet Spot: Entertainment for Anywhere in Your Home

Even if you prefer to be at home, that doesn’t mean your options are limited. Stream a movie with your family in the living room, and then take The Freestyle with you when you want to watch something in your bedroom. Designed for portability, The Freestyle automatically adjusts the level, focus and keystone as soon as you touch the power button for a quick and hassle-free setup.

The Freestyle also freely rotates up to 180 degrees, allowing you to find the perfect position without moving the projector. Easily change the angle to display content anywhere in your home, whether it’s on the wall, the ceiling, the floor, or the table. The device can be powered on or off using your voice. This is great for those times when you want to go to sleep. You can ask questions, listen to music, or open apps with ease using voice commands.

If you enjoy decorating, The Freestyle can add an atmosphere to any room. You can enhance the space even if there is no clear screen or wall. You can make your home unique by putting something on the blinds or curtains. This will add style to your space.

4. Life of the Party: Customizable Features Worth Celebrating

Whether you’re a holiday party planner to a weekend-hangout organizer, if you want to host an event, The Freestyle offers features that are something to celebrate. When it’s not being used as a projector, The Freestyle has an ambient mode that allows you to customize your space with mood lighting effects. Instead of using a placard, you can use the Freestyle to create a photo zone for your party instantly. Blast your favorite playlist through The Freestyle’s speaker and turn your get-together into a night you’ll never forget.

The Freestyle Bluetooth speaker is a great option for playing music at parties. Comparable to the high-performance portable Bluetooth speakers out in the market, The Freestyle’s powerful built-in speakers deliver rich 360-degree sound, so you can experience immersive audio from wherever you’re sitting. By playing your favorite artist onscreen, you can quickly transform your living room into your very own concert venue.

The Freestyle also offers a variety of colors that give users the freedom to express their unique style down to the smallest detail. Soft, protective rubber covers are available in a variety of colors to enhance the appearance of your projector, including Blossom Pink and Forest Green.

The Freestyle goes beyond the capabilities of regular devices to give you the freedom to customize and consume content wherever, whenever and however you want. The ultra-portable smart TV projector delivers a complete entertainment experience. It combines immersive audio and high-quality visuals. You can transform your home and make it your own with The Freestyle. It is made for you.

Samsung Honored for Continued Sustainability Leadership by the U.S. EPA

Samsung Honored for Continued Sustainability Leadership by the U.S. EPA – Samsung Global Newsroom

Received Two Accolades in Recognition of Recycling and Eco-Product Innovations

In recognition of its continued environmental leadership and innovation, Samsung Electronics America today received two awards from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Samsung’s honors include a Gold Tier Award, the EPA’s highest award for the responsible recycling of electronic waste (e-waste) and a Sustained Excellence Award, a new EPA accolade, recognizing our legacy of Sustainable Materials Management (SMM) product innovation, including our groundbreaking SolarCell Remote for Samsung TVs.

The EPA’s SMM Electronics Challenge program honors brands that have employed innovative strategies to use materials in a more environmentally responsible way throughout their lifecycle. Samsung’s eco-innovation in materials and responsible recycling program have been recognized each year by the EPA and our consumer recycling programs have received the highest SMM award level since the SMM Program’s inception in 2014. The 2021 SMM Electronics Challenge Award winners were recognized at a virtual award ceremony held today.

“We at Samsung are making sustainability the driving force behind our bold innovations, and the EPA has recognized that effort,” stated Mark Newton, Head, Corporate Sustainability, Samsung Electronics America. As part of the transition to a circular economy, our engineers and designers continue to find meaningful ways for us as a company and society reduce our waste. When consumers buy a Samsung product, we want them to feel confident that they’re not only experiencing our cutting-edge technology and eco-innovation advances, but we’re also making it easy for them to repair, refurbish and recycle their products as well.”

“It will take us all working together to create a sustainable future. I salute the organizations that were recognized for their outstanding leadership in electronic recycling efforts ,” said Michael S. Regan, EPA Administrator. “Electronics are a global economic driver with supply chains that reach around the world and products that play a big role in our daily lives. Because of these organizations’ efforts, we’re able to recover and recycle valuable resources like precious metals, critical minerals, plastics and glass.”

The eighth consecutive year Samsung won the EPA SMM Gold Tier Award to recognize our outstanding performance in e waste collection across the United States. We collect and recycle an average of 100 million pounds of e-waste per year in the United States, the greenhouse gas (GHG) equivalent of over two million trees sequestering carbon for ten years. Since 2008, we’ve responsibly recycled more than a billion pounds of electronics, diverting them from U.S. landfills and recovering reusable materials. And Samsung has an aggressive goal to incorporate 500,000 tons of recycled plastics into our products globally by 2030.

In addition to our legacy of SMM innovations over the years, the EPA Sustained Excellence Award recognizes Samsung’s SolarCell Remote, which was introduced in early 2021 and developed to reduce battery waste and to help close the loop on plastic waste. This innovation — which is currently available with Samsung 4K and 8K QLED (Neo, Q80A, Q70A, Q60A) and MicroLED televisions — is projected to eliminate the disposal of 99 million AA batteries and avoid 5,840 tons of GHG over the course of seven years of usage. * Beyond reducing battery waste, Samsung is cutting down on plastic waste as the remote contains 24% upcycled Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and Polycarbonate (PC).

What’s more is that, in January 2022, Samsung unveiled advancements on the second generation of its SolarCell Remote, which can now draw electricity from radio frequencies in devices like Wi-Fi routers. The remote has also been included in more Samsung products, such as new Samsung TVs and home appliances – all with the aim of eliminating the disposal of more than 200 million AA batteries from landfills.

[Design Story] Behind the Design of the Galaxy Tab S8

[Design Story] Behind the Design of the Galaxy Tab S8 – Samsung Global Newsroom

The innovative legacy the Galaxy line has left behind isn’t limited to its phones. It applies equally to other Samsung Electronics products. While maintaining the characteristics of each device, be it smartphone, tablet, or laptop, the Galaxy design refines each product into a simple form. The design philosophy combines the best of both modern technology and current trends to create a uniform identity.

The new Galaxy Tab S8 series carries on this legacy. The Galaxy Tab S series continues this tradition with optimized performance and a refined design.

An Iconic Identity

The Galaxy Tab series evolved over time, with core user experiences being added to reflect user changing needs. The Galaxy Tab S8 series is a key part of the definitive Galaxy legacy and identity, and consistently reflects the new and improved experiences it provides to users through its design.

The S Pen, a key part of the Galaxy Tab S series experience, bestows a one-of-a-kind identity to the Galaxy Tab S8 series while providing flexible and efficient usability, and has always been included in the box alongside a Galaxy Tab S series device since its first iteration to accompany the user from the beginning. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and S8+ both come with a new and improved S Pen that uses a prediction algorithm for ultra-low latency1 — delivering an incredible writing experience that mimics gliding a pen across paper. The S Pen charging track on the back of the Tab S8 ensures gentle and firm use by means of a magnet, and the camera hole, S Pen and the Samsung Electronics logo all align smoothly on the back of the device in a linear layout to provide a sense of unity.

The Galaxy Tab S8 series once again offers its users a selection of timeless and harmonious colors. Three colors are available to the series’ users: premium Graphite and Silver hues and a trendy and calming shade of Pink Gold. The matte surface of the tablet, trimmed to match the reinforced metal material, blends luxuriously with the premium color, whichever swatch a user opts for.

Expanded Experiences

The Galaxy Tab S series provides users with an excellent viewing experience thanks to its large display. This experience has been further expanded with the Galaxy Tab S8 series. The screen comes in a super slim bezel that brings new depths of immersion, while the enlarged screen is simplified to help you navigate better.

The overall design of the Galaxy Tab S8 series comes together to provide a unified and concise user experience in a way that maintains familiarity by utilizing the same keyboard shortcuts as a PC does. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra’s expansive screen also makes it easy for a user to split the screen into multiple, resizable windows, so they can multitask without having to toggle between apps. 2

From a communication perspective, the ultra-wide front camera on the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra helps users communicate clearly when using the device’s wide screen during video calls or meetings. Additionally, the ultra-wide angle camera automatically adjusts for optimal composition, and the 3-way mic solution delivers clearer sound to provide a truly enhanced video communication experience.

Purposeful Versatility

Samsung Galaxy products are designed to meet the needs of society today and assist people in pursuing more varied and sustainable lifestyles. Along with its eco-conscious packaging, the Galaxy Tab S8 series also lets users express their true diverse selves thanks to the versatility of its cover.

The Galaxy Tab S8 series’ cover3 is convenient to use and adds to the enjoyable user experience of the tablet as a whole. The new Book Cover Keyboard for the Galaxy Tab S8 series provides the experience of using a laptop thanks to its full keyboard and backlight. To improve the usability of the touchpad, glass has been replaced by premium antibacterial polyurethane. Additionally, the Note View Cover for the Galaxy Tab S8 and S8+ allows users to write directly with the S Pen on the transparent cover that mimics the pen-to-paper sensation.

The Galaxy Tab S8 and S8+’s Strap Cover can be rotated 360@, letting users hold the tablet in one hand and use it freely in any desired direction. The Protective Standing Cover for the Galaxy Tab S8 series features an air pocket and an internal shock-resistant structure to firmly protect the device, while its free-stop hinge allows users to freely adjust the standing angle.

Only the Essentials

The Galaxy Tab S8 series’ packaging focuses on just the essentials, carrying only the essence of the product and reflecting those values held dear to us today. It is easy to see the product’s key features, including its thickness, structure, S Pen, and color. This package is also the smallest in series. The packaging’s volume and weight have been reduced to conserve resources, and reduce energy consumption.

The secret to Galaxy’s enduring legacy is the constant delivery of the unique values specific to each Galaxy product. Samsung designers continue to push the boundaries of design, bringing new technology to customers while preserving each Galaxy product’s unique identity.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra survives durability test

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra survives durability test

Some larger smartphones and tablets are not that rigid and bend under excessive force. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra brings a massive 14. 6-inch display and is a mere 5. 5mm thick so you’d assume it may not fare that well in terms of structural rigidity. Famed YouTuber JerryRigEverything decided to test out the largest Samsung tablet to date in his usual durability test to see if it will survive in one piece.

The 14. 6-inch Super AMOLED display on the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is made from glass and scratches at a level six on Mohs hardness scale. Samsung added an in-display fingerprint scanner to the Tab S8 Ultra which still works after serious levels of scratches with level 7 Mohs mineral picks. As demonstrated by close contact with razor blades, the sides and back of the Tab S119 Ultra are made out of metal.

Interestingly the larger S Pen stylus bundled with the tablet actually houses the same sized internal hardware as the S Pens found in Samsung’s Galaxy Note series and the S22 Ultra but with a plastic spacer to fill up the larger internal structure. Last in line is the all-important bend test where the Tab S8 Ultra flexes a bit but manages to retain its rigidity without snapping.

How Samsung’s Bespoke Jet™ Cordless Vacuum Makes Spring Cleaning a Breeze

How Samsung’s Bespoke Jet™ Cordless Vacuum Makes Spring Cleaning a Breeze – Samsung Global Newsroom

Cleanliness and home hygiene have become top-of-mind in light of our current global circumstances. Furthermore, as more and more people are working from home, keeping your home hygienic has become especially important.

Whether you’re cleaning to keep away allergens, cleaning on a tight schedule or simply cleaning up after pets, you can master your spring cleaning with help from Samsung Electronics’ Bespoke Jet™.

A Hygienic Start to Spring Cleaning

Getting started on the laundry list of things to get done for spring cleaning can be daunting. But when you’re ready to start, so is the Bespoke Jet™.

With its cutting-edge All-in-One Clean Station™, the Jet is automatically emptied and recharged after each use. Samsung’s unique Air Pulse technology cleans out the dustbin while ensuring that fine dust and particles don’t escape back into your home thanks to an advanced filtration system that traps 99.999% of fine dust.1

Even while vacuuming, the Bespoke Jet™ uses an advanced Multi-Layered Filtration System that, like the one in the All-in-One Clean Station™, traps 99.999%2 of dust particles and fine dust,3 so you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that only clean air is being released from your Jet.

Big Power for Big Messes

Spring cleaning can be an extra chore if you have to do it multiple times. If you haven’t got round to vacuuming in a while, you need a device that has all the power you need to get the job done.

The Bespoke Jet™ is designed with a powerful Digital Inverter Motor that supplies up to 210W4 of suction power. Inside, a Jet Cyclone flow structure makes the most of this suction power to effectively pick up particles from start to finish while minimizing suction loss, removing the need to vacuum over the same area multiple times.

All you need to do for those areas that need a bit more care than others is to set the power to max and vacuum with ease.

The Lightweight Champ for Cleaning After Pets

While chasing your pets around the house can be fun, cleaning after them from room to room can be a pain in the neck and the back.

Vacuuming pet hair and dander is part of any pet owner’s daily routine, and is especially important to keep up for anyone suffering with allergies. What’s more, with springtime just around the corner and seasonal irritants on the rise, a lack of thorough cleaning could result in suboptimal living conditions.

In order to mitigate this, it is essential for any pet owner to have a lightweight vacuum cleaner that can get into all the nooks and crannies, just like your pets. Cleaning from spot to spot is easier with the Bespoke Jet™ thanks to its lightweight design weighing 24% less5 than other vacuums. You can easily glide from the floor, to carpets, to underneath the couch, and even behind your desk without any strain on your back.

The optional Pet Tool’s brush attachment is another way to take the hassle out of cleaning pet fur. A rubber nozzle combined with bristles helps to pick up even thin, easy-to-miss pet hair from around the house.

With the Bespoke Jet™, you can spend more time playing with your pets and less time stressing over their mess.

Long-Lasting Power When Cleaning on a Tight Schedule

On average, it is recommended that people should vacuum the most frequently used areas in the home, such as floors and furniture, around once a week,6 with each vacuum session varying from minutes to hours depending on the size of the space. But for those extra-long cleaning sessions, the Bespoke Jet™ was designed with endurance and efficiency in mind.

Say you’re having guests over and need to clean the entire house in a hurry. The Bespoke Jet™’s detachable, long-lasting battery ensures that you’re always ready, no matter the size of the job. A full charge lets you vacuum for an hour,7 and a detachable battery means that you can double your cleaning time after a quick swap meaning that there is no need to waste time to stop and recharge.

Convenient Accessories To Give Your Spring Cleaning That Extra Shine

There’s nothing like celebrating springtime with a get-together at home with food, drinks and friends  but a spilled drink can put a dampener on any social event. Thanks to the Bespoke Jet™’s Spray Spinning Sweeper,8 you can quickly remove any spills in record time, removing the need for a mop, a bucket or other cleaning tools.

The Bespoke Jet Spray Spinning Sweeper attachment uses dual spinning wet pads that rotate 260 times a minute to clean hard floors by quickly picking up spills while getting rid of germs when paired with reusable anti-bacterial microfiber pads.9 Its built-in water tank can also help with any stickier spills.

Furthermore, if you’re not sure how to go about cleaning up a mess with your Bespoke Jet™, its built-in LCD Digital Display offers you all the information you need at a glance. The intuitive icons on the display not only alert you to a problem, but also guide you through the solution, whether it’s a clog in the system, objects stuck in the brush, or a missing filter. Featuring support for 28 languages, you can also keep track of the suction levels you’re using and even the remaining battery power.

In order to master your spring cleaning this season, ensure you have all your bases covered with the versatile Bespoke Jet™ vacuum, designed with Samsung innovations to make it the perfect tool for your cleaning.

OnePlus 10R, Nord CE 2 Lite and Nord Buds coming to India on April 28

OnePlus 10R, Nord CE 2 Lite and Nord Buds coming to India on April 28

We have seen a lot of leaks about two OnePlus mid-rangers as well as a pair TWS buds in recent weeks. That trio is headed to India – the company just announced a launch event on April 28 and Amazon India put up a landing page. Its tagline reads “More power to you”.

For now all we have are silhouettes, but more official details should start trickling in. The two phones we mentioned are the OnePlus 10R and the Nord CE 2 Lite 5G. Starting with the 10R (code name “pickle”), this will be the company’s first phone with a Dimensity 8100. The rumored specs tack closely to the sibling Realme GT Neo3, which is already official.

This means that the promising chipset will be paired with a 6. 7″ 120 Hz AMOLED display (FHD+) and a fast-charging 4,500 mAh battery. 150W fast, if the leaks are correct (the Neo also has a 5,000 mAh/80W version). The phone should have a 50 MP main camera (with OIS) and 8 MP ultra wide on the back, plus a 16 MP selfie camera on the front. A classic OnePlus feature – the alert slider – will not be present, rumors claim.

As for the OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite 5G (“Ace”), its catchy name will be paired with a Snapdragon 695, replacing the Dimensity 900 of the regular Nord CE 2. Other changes include a 6. 58″ IPS LCD (120 Hz) instead of the 6. 43″ AMOLED (90 Hz) and dropping the 8 MP ultra wide camera, leaving only a 64 MP main module and two 2 MP helpers on the back.

Certifications also revealed the battery spec – 4,500 mAh capacity, 33W fast charging (down from 65W). This sounds like a particular Realme phone, the RMX3574, which we’ve seen on TENAA and expect to launch as one of the Realme Q5 models coming later this month.

Last but not least, the buds. The OnePlus Nord TWS headset was recreated in 3D by @OnLeaks. The buds have short stems and 41 mAh internal batteries (per the FCC), which will be topped up by the 480 mAh power bank inside the carrying case.

There’s no word on pricing yet, but the OnePlus 9R launched at Rs40,000 a year ago, so expect the 10R to be in the same ballpark. The Nord CE 2 (non-Lite) currently sells for Rs24,000.
